One of Australia’s greatest philanthropists, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch has supported many worthy charities throughout
her long lifetime. She is known for her generosity to such Melbourne icons as the Royal Children’s and Women’s
Hospitals.
She consistently gives enormous encouragement to the arts and the new Melbourne Recital
Hall, which bears her name, is just one example.
Since 1996 Dame Elisabeth has proudly supported the Australian National Piano Award
(ANPA), providing enormous encouragement to young Australian pianists.
It is through her generosity that these emerging artists are empowered to carry the name of
Australian music to the four corners of the globe. ANPA is extremely grateful for her valued assistance.
