Announced at the 2026 Award grand final and prize presentation at Riverlinks Eastbank, Shepparton, Andrea will help champion the next generation of Australian pianists and raise the profile of the Award and the opportunities it offers emerging talent across the country.

“Opportunities like this are incredibly important for young Australian pianists, giving them the chance to perform at a high level, be heard and experience the concentration, challenge and excitement of a major competition. I’m looking forward to supporting the Award and the remarkable young pianists who take part,” Andrea said.

Andrea is one of Australia’s most celebrated pianists. She is the classical expert on ABC TV’s The Piano, won the 2025 ARIA Award for Best Classical Album for Piano Diary and is Lecturer in Piano at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

Award President Darryl Coote said the Board was thrilled to welcome Andrea to the Award family.

“Andrea is an outstanding artist and a wonderful advocate for Australian music. Her career shows young pianists what’s possible, and her passion for nurturing emerging talent makes her the perfect Ambassador for the Award. We’re delighted to have her on board as we look ahead to 2028,” Coote said.
