Due to the evolving pandemic circumstances across Australia, the Board of the Australian National Piano Award has decided to postpone the 2021 Award that was scheduled to be presented in Shepparton from 4 – 9 October 2021.

At the end of April, the sad news arrived that the Award co-founder and inaugural Artistic Director, Professor Max Cooke OAM had passed away aged 97 years at Cabrini Ashwood, where he lived in aged care for the past two years.

The Australian National Piano Award announces the 11 finalists who will strive to win over $65,000 in prize money as they perform in a week of solo recitals at Riverlinks Eastbank in Shepparton from 4 – 9 October 2021.

Following careful consideration and review, the Board announces that the Australian National Piano Award will not proceed as planned for September 2020.

Visit Shepparton with other music lovers and be enthralled with the exceptional solo recitals performed by the Award finalists – come for a couple of days or the entire week.

Oliver She, 27 years old from Brisbane, has won in the 2018 Australian National Piano Award. At the Grand Final on Saturday night, Oliver took out the first prize of $27,000 (plus another prize of the Best performance from the Romantic era). Building upon his third place at the 2016 Australian National Piano Award, he was delighted to triumph amongst such an elite group of pianists.
